License¶
Introduction¶
License Management shows the status and location of your SecureSuite license and enables you to update your license. Only users with the System Admin role have access to the License Management page.
This guide explains:
Without a valid license, you cannot start new Controls assessments or run remote configuration assessments.

CIS Controls Memberships¶
For those with CIS Controls Memberships, all Benchmarks-related functionality will be hidden in the application.
To further secure your systems, we strongly recommend getting the full CIS SecureSuite Membership to use Benchmarks functionality. Refer to CIS SecureSuite Categories and Pricing to apply for a membership.
Update License¶
Tip
Check to the right of License on the navigation bar to see your license status (valid or invalid).
1. In CIS WorkBench, go to Downloads.
2. Select Download License.

3. Select Download.

Download Issues?
If the file is not downloading, verify that JavaScript is enabled on your browser.
4. Extract the contents from the downloaded ZIP file.
5. In the CIS SecureSuite Platform, go to License.
6. Select Browse and then choose a valid SecureSuite license.
Note
The license file you are uploading must be valid and named license.xml or the update will fail. If valid, the new license from your local machine will update the license file that resides on the installation machine.
7. Log out and log back in to see the updated license.
Changing the license location
To change the directory where the license file is stored, rerun the installation and select a different license directory (Windows installation or Linux installation).
